Today, the world is experiencing the Fourth Industrial Revolution, commonly known as Industry 4.0. This era influences human activities across various fields, not only in technology but also in the economy, society, politics, and education.

As a developing country, Indonesia is also responding to this revolution.

The education system shaped by Industry 4.0 is referred to as Education 4.0.

This approach is characterised by the use of digital technology in learning processes, often called a cyber system. Such learning can take place without the limitations of space and time.

To face these challenges, the education sector is required to be creative in curriculum development.

Curriculum development now focuses on mastery of data literacy, enabling the use of big data in the digital world, as well as technological literacy and human literacy.

As the key drivers of educational success, teachers must develop all three types of literacy and upgrade their competencies to meet the demands of Education 4.0.

These competencies are often referred to as the 4Cs: Critical Thinking, Communication, Collaboration, and Creativity.

The learners whom teachers engage with today belong to Generation Z. This generation is also known as iGeneration, the Net Generation, or the Internet Generation.

They are highly skilled in technology, capable of multitasking, and accustomed to using gadgets, so they are very familiar with the digital world. This reality requires teachers to possess the competencies of Educator 4.0.

Learning in the era of Education 4.0 is no longer teacher-centred but rather focuses on student activity.

The learning process is not merely about academic grades; instead, teachers must foster the development of three domains within students: cognitive, affective, and psychomotor.

Teachers today have greater opportunities to be creative and innovative in conducting learning activities due to the abundance of learning resources that can be accessed online or offline, whether paid or free (open source), to an appropriate extent.

However, implementing this vision may not be as simple as it seems for many teachers. Several challenges may arise in practice, such as:

Devices and Equipment

Not all schools can provide enough computers or devices for every student involved in learning activities. Likewise, not all students own or bring a smartphone to school.

Internet Access

Some students and even teachers may not always have sufficient data packages during lessons, especially if learning activities are expected to continue from the first period until the end of the school day.

An Unsupportive School Atmosphere

Is it possible? "Creativity is unlikely to flourish if an institution is dominated by a particular group that does not allow others the freedom to grow."

Teachers will not be able to express their creativity if there is a controlling group that restricts opportunities for others, or if there is intimidation, sabotage, or threats within the workplace or community.

Conversely, when an institution provides adequate support and facilities, creativity can develop much more effectively. This represents the perspective of schools that are able to adapt to technological change and the demands of the modern era.
