Asking for and Giving Information- ‘Ask for’ sebagai judul dituliskan dalam bentuk –ing menjadi ‘asking for’memiliki arti ‘meminta’. 


Sedangkan ‘give’ menjadi ‘giving’ artinya ‘memberi’. Materi ini berkisar tentang ungkapan/kalimat yang digunakan untuk menanyakan/meminta dan memberi informasi.


Dalam ungkapan/kalimat yang digunakan untuk menanyakan/meminta dan memberi informasi biasanya digunakan:


1.   Modal auxiliary (kata bantu modal) misalnya can/could, will/would, shall/should, must/had to, may/might

2. Question words (kata tanya) misalnya who, what, where, when, why,how  dan lain sebagainya.

Dialogue 1: Post Office


Stranger: Excuse me. Could you tell me the post office please?

Stranger: Is it far?

Local people: It takes about ten minutes.

Customer 3: The same as mom, curry and satay.
